The Nigeria Police Recruitment Screening Date Has Been Announced - 2016 - The Nigerian Police; has announced to the general public on Friday 3, June that the screening of eligible candidates for the current recruitment which 10, 000 personnel will be drafted into the Nigerian Police Force will be held on June 6, 2016.

This was made known by  Mike Okiro, The Chairman of the Commission at a press conference in Abuja stated that the screening exercise will hold in the 36 States of the federation on June 6, 2016. the reason for the commission's decision to hold it across the 36 states is to reduce crowding.

In consequence he stated that the shortlisted candidates according to rank is as follows:
  • 44,661 for cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).
  • 87,736 for cadet Inspector.
  • 205,830 for Police Constables. 
This is almost half the number that applied, as report had it that :
  • 262,426 applied for cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP),
  • 211,832 applied for Cadet Inspector
  • 437,144 for Police Constables. 
Meanwhile, by the knowledge of this announcement "The Nigeria Police wishes to inform the general public, particularly Bayelsans who applied for various cadre in the ongoing Police recruitment exercise, that the list of shortlisted candidates is out.

"The names of candidates will be pasted at the entrance of Bayelsa State Police Command on Friday June 3 from 10.00 a.m.

"Applicants who did not receive confirmation via email or SMS are advised to check their names and copy their Identification number preparatory for the screening exercise scheduled to commence on the June 6," according to the statement sourced NAN.
